Web 2.0 Based Conservation in Mongolia

The Wildlife Conservation Society's Mongolia Program Office has teamed up with the American Center for Mongolian Studies Library to create this blog as a tool for Community-based Wildlife Conservation in Mongolia. Blogs are a major part of the "Web 2.0 revolution" that you may have heard about in the media. What Web 2.0 means in a practical sense is using web-based technologies in innovative and dynamic ways to communicate across distances and time at unprecedented levels. Blogs allow individuals to become author and publisher at the click of the mouse, and interactive applications allow a community of readers to comment on articles, post their own thoughts, and share information freely.

The Wildlife Conservation Society in Mongolia will work with its local partners to extend the functionality of this blog to allow a community forum for individuals and organizations interested in conservation efforts in Mongolia. Be sure to subscribe to this blog, bookmark it, or check back frequently to see how this community resource has grown.
